MANAGING DIRECTORMark O’Halloran
A graduate from the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG), Mark started his career as a Construction Engineer in London, but after six months moved back to his home nation again to become a Site Engineer, during the Celtic Tiger era. He ventured to Australia and dabbled in the designing of waste water treatment plants, however before long moved back to the Northern Hemisphere and into the design and Rail industry, basing himself in York. It was in this industry that he attained his chartership status. With 13 years alone in rail, his career path is almost a desired template for graduates now-a-days, and he excels at multi-disciplinary design management with a keen understanding of process and procedure. He thrives on providing his clients with an exceptional service and flexibility, while working collaboratively with them for mutual end goals. As Managing Director and co-owner of AJMS Consultants, his business sense, technical skills, experience and client rapport put him in an idyllic position to lead AJMS Consultants to future success.
DIRECTORAustin Byrne
Having graduated from the School of Civil Engineering at The University of Birmingham, Austin began his career in the field of traffic engineering, taking on roles with both a major consultant and on the client side with Transport for London. Following a switch into the rail sector in 2007, he soon gained chartered status through the Institution of Civil Engineers. With over 20 years in the industry, he has the capability to undertake and manage a wide range of civil design schemes. Austin is keen to ensure that our clients receive an individual and tailored service based on the wealth of knowledge and customer focus that can be offered by AJMS Consultants. His attention to detail and keen focus on financial affairs in past positions is one additional reason for his directorship and co-ownership of AJMS Consultants.
DIRECTORJohn Jeffers
Graduate of Civil and Structural Engineering, John has a passion for the field of engineering. With a particular focus in structural engineering culminating in the achievement of chartered engineer status, and most recently leading a large delivery team as an associate with one of the largest UK consulting companies. With 18 years previous rail experience as both consultant and contractor, John is delighted to be part of the team here at AJMS Consultants. With a friendly, respectful yet professional approach, John is ideally placed to enhance our client delivery teams and represent at the highest level. His status as Director and co-owner is no accident based on his achievements, work ethic and technical ability.
DIRECTORSimon Ward
Simon graduated from The University of Manchester in 1997 and immediately began his career working as a graduate Engineer in the power generation and electrical distribution sectors. Year on year promotion followed until a career change after 8 years thrust him into the rail industry, designing line side infrastructure, level crossings and ‘Access for all’ DDA schemes. His affable nature and ‘can do’ attitude helped him achieve chartered status and gave him responsibility over a dedicated design team. With 17 years in the rail sector, Simon is well versed in the design requirements and standards the industry demands and has been intrinsic in the successful delivery of various projects, most notably large signalling renewal schemes. His technical ability, experience and wealth of knowledge put him in a prime position to become Director and co-owner of AJMS.
