KING ’ S CROSS REMODELLING TEMPORARY WORKS

As part of the £1.2 billion East Coast Upgrade, the King’s Cross Remodelling Scheme will require infrastructure around King’s Cross Station to be replaced or redesigned, including tracks, signalling, platform and overhead line equipment.

PROJECT SCOPE AND DELIVERY

As part of the remodelling scheme requirement, the reconstruction of new platform riser walls, track drainage and overhead line structures will temporarily affect the stability of numerous structures across the station.

Network Rail appointed Pod-Trak to deliver a significant multidisciplinary scope of civil engineering works, including the demolishing and rebuilding of platforms 0 – 11 and to reconfigure the OLE to the new track layout and alignment. AJMS were appointed as the temporary work designer for Pod-Trak, to deliver the design in line with Network Rail GRIP 5-6 stage requirement. Our design works including temporary trench sheet or trench box design, structural and slope stability assessment, crane mats and ground stability assessment, scaffolding check and temporary propping design.

AJMS delivered all the temporary works identified by Pod-Trak in critical timeframe on time and on budget, also helping the client to resolve any design or multidisciplinary issues with the project team.
