NEGATIVE SHORT CIRCUITING DEVICES (NSCD)

As part of multiple schemes for the Negative Short Circuiting Devices, including Safer Isolations Phases 3, 4 & 5, over 100 sites have been surveyed and designed for including B4 and B5 sites and a variety of equipment. The sites are located across Kent and Sussex areas including Central London.

PROJECT SCOPE AND DELIVERY
Across numerous sites throughout Kent and Sussex including London, Negative Short Circuiting Devices (NSCDs) have been surveyed and designed. The design works have comprised of GRIP 3 through to GRIP 5 with construction advice and temporary work designs provided requested.

These have been for both B4 & B5 sites and a variety of equipment such as LCS and HSS NSCDs with the latter in the form of both modules and individual circuit units. Local Control Panels (LCPs) and Consolidated Control Panel (CCPs) as required consisting of LCP sighting where necessary.

AJMS delivered the designs within the demanding timeframe for these works. The designs have taken the form of various solutions ranging from straightforward to staging works with complex cable management and bespoken structures including both steel and GRP materials. Each solution has been tailored for the site-specific requirements with some challenging spatial and cable management issues resolved.
